What to Do to Ensure Your Baby's First Teeth Come Out HealthyEvery parent wants to do what they can to be sure that their child's first set of teeth are healthy and strong. If you have a new baby, especially if it is your first one, here are some tips to help make this happen.

Watch Your Child's Nutrition

It is always important to be sure that your child is eating healthy foods. This is especially important at the very beginning of your child's life. During this time, your child's body is laying the groundwork for growth and development throughout the rest of his or her life.

As your child's teeth are forming, you want to be sure that you are giving him or her all of the nutrients that he or she needs. On top of calcium, there are a number of essential vitamins and minerals that your child will need in order for him or her to grow strong, healthy teeth. So, stay on top of this and be sure that you feed him or her the proper foods.

Keep Your Child's Mouth Clean

Every parent knows how important it is for a child to brush and floss regularly. However, many parents do not understand that it is equally important for a child's mouth to be cleaned even before teeth start to come in.

Before your child gets his or her first teeth, you should make it a habit to regularly wipe out his or her mouth with a clean (and damp) washcloth. This will help to keep down the levels of harmful bacteria that could otherwise accumulate, and will help to keep tooth decay at bay as the teeth begin to come in.
